It was the time when handful of traders laid the foundation for Calcutta Stock Exchange, under a grand old neem tree at Old China China Bazar Street. Dayco today, profoundly acknowledges the heritage of Late Toolsidass Roy, who was among those British and native traders, who founded India’s oldest exchange. Though unofficially founded in 1874, Calcutta Stock Exchange Association was formally registered in the beginning of 20th century.
Late Acrur Chandra Day became Member of Calcutta Stock Exchange, as per record book available with the Exchange.
Late Kartick Chandra Day, the 2nd son of Late Acrur Chandra Day, joined his family business, as an Official Assistant of Calcutta Stock Exchange.
Late Kartick Chandra Day acquired Membership of Calcutta Stock Exchange. Dayco still continues the same membership number as on date.
The name and style of “Dayco” began its journey – as a partnership firm, and Ajit Day, the company’s CMD joined his father.
The decades for Financial Instiutions began – Dayco got empanelment with all major Financial Institutions of India – like LIC, GIC and UTI.
The door opened for global markets. Dayco availed empanelment with all major Foreign Institutional Investors, registered in India.
Time came for corporate era. Dayco changed its form to “Dayco Securities Pvt Ltd”. Rest all being the same, it was just keeping up and running.
Time to respond National Stock Exchange’s call for extending membership to broking houses of Eastern India. Dayco was among the first who availed it.
Turn for being one of the first Depository Participants of Eastern India. Dayco joined National Securities Depository Ltd (NSDL) as a Depository Participant.
Its time for bringing all investor services under one roof - Dayco was registered as an AP with Insurance Regulatory & Development Authority and in 2015, It got the license to act as a Corporate Agent under the Insurance Act, 1938.
Dayco was enrolled as AMFI Registered Mutual Fund Advisor with Association of Mutual Funds in India.
Added 2 more feathers after receiving Corporate Agency of Insurance – Dayco became Authentication User Agency with Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) for providing Adhaar enebled authentication and it got registered as a Point of Presence for National Pension Scheme with Pension Fund Regulatory & Development Authority.
